We met Chelsea while navigating an AMPS diagnosis for my seven-year-old daughter. My daughter suffered from widespread pain, but the main complaints were leg pain and allodynia resulting in the inability to walk, and throat pain resulting in the inability to eat most foods. After hearing many stories from other families navigating an AMPS diagnosis, I can confidently say that Chelsea is the reason our daughter returned to herself within months, instead of suffering for years.
Chelsea quickly helped us understand our daughter’s diagnosis, build a professional team to address all aspects, and develop an intensive outpatient therapy plan to address the pain. Within just 2 and a half months of her first appointment with Chelsea, she went from relying on crutches and a wheelchair to walking independently. Within about 5 months she was back to all of her normal activities.
In addition to Chelsea’s knowledge and excellence in the physical therapy field, she was also extremely skilled at relationship building and communication. She didn't give up when my daughter resisted; this was evidenced by my daughter going from crying and resisting therapy to looking forward to it, and describing Chelsea as a best friend that she loves. Other medical professionals on my daughter's team were skilled in their fields, but Chelsea was the AMPS expert, providing them with tips, direction, and additional information as needed.
It’s not an overstatement to say our family came to Chelsea in a moment of crisis - and that Chelsea navigated us out.
