Strong Roots, founded by physical therapist Chelsea Crist, is inspired by the idea that every child thrives when supported by a strong foundation. Together, they created a practice built on teamwork, dedication, and a commitment to helping families grow stronger—together.
At Strong Roots Physical Therapy, our mission is rooted in a deep passion for helping children reach their fullest potential. We believe that every child deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated. By taking the time to meet each child where they are and with care that is thoughtful, compassionate, and empowering - they are able to build, grow, and thrive throughout their lives —always grounded in the strength of the roots we’ve helped establish together.
My name is Chelsea Crist. I am the founder and physical therapist at Strong Roots Physical Therapy.
Throughout my life, I’ve experienced physical therapy as a patient myself, which allows me to genuinely connect with the children and families I serve. I understand, on a personal level, what it feels like to face challenges and work toward progress. I grew up with the belief that “everyone has something,” and I am here to help your child overcome their “something” so they can get back to simply being a kid.
My passion for physical therapy grew out of my own journey and it continues to inspire the care I provide each day. I am dedicated to helping children and families find positivity, strength, and confidence throughout their recovery and return to play and daily activities.
My own experience as a child in physical therapy shaped the therapist I am today. I remember what it meant to have a provider who truly listened and looked for the root cause of my pain and that’s the kind of therapist I strive to be for every child I work with. I am committed to listening, showing up with empathy, and going the extra mile. I aim to make therapy engaging and fun, even during challenging times, while providing families with support, honesty, and hope. Above all, I want every child and family to feel valued, understood, and part of the Strong Roots team.
Outside of the clinic I enjoy staying active myself, whether that is going for a walk, hiking, bike riding, pickleball, tennis, yoga, or teaching fitness classes. I also enjoy relaxing with a good book, traveling, exploring new restaurants, and trying new recipes at home. Most of all, I love spending quality time with my husband, family, friends, and my dog, Lily.
